Turnip and sweet potato cutlets topped with a creamy pea puree

This lovely recipe will please the whole family and is a big hit especially amongst children.Once gently fried,the turnip and sweet potatoes cook in a jiffy and darken into rich golden brown cutlets that are crisp around the edges and soft and mushy on the inside and are topped with a richly flavoured pea puree with lemon,garlic and just enough butter to make it oh-so-satisfying.







Some of the ingredients used in this recipe





Ingredients


Turnip-200 gm

Sweet potato-200 gm (par boiled)

Sesame seeds- ½ tbsp

Salt and pepper to taste

Onion- 1 finely chopped

Garlic- 3-4 finely chopped

Pea puree- (boiled peas and a little water, salt and milk/cream blended in a mixer)- 2 tbsp



Method


1.In a saucepan add olive oil,fry the onion and garlic for a minute followed by sweet potatoes,turnip,salt and pepper. Cook it for few minutes.


2.Once done, mash it well.


3.Make small round shape cutlets out of it.


4.In a pan add little oil and pan fry the and garnish with a creamy and thick pee puree. Serve warm.



Health/Cooking Tips


1.You can add potatoes/peas/cottage cheese ,carrots as variations
