Steamed guava salad with a basil yogurt dressing


This delicious salad is extremely healthy, can be prepared in no time and is perfect an a appetiser. 






Some ingredients used in this recipe are






Ingredients for the dressing


Yogurt -1.5 tbsp

Basil leaves -1tbsp 

Rock salt -to taste 

Black pepper powder -to taste 

Raw brown sugar -1.5 tsp Olive oil -1 tsp 

Djorn mustard -1/ tsp 

Water - a dash ( very little or else the dressing will become very thin and watery)



Directions for the dressing-


1.In a blender ,add all the ingredients of the dressing and keep it aside.



Ingredients for the salad


Guava -1

Rocket leaves -70 gm

Extra virgin olive oil - 1 tbsp

Basil leaves -1 tbsp

Cherry tomatoes -4-5 sliced 

Salt - to taste 

Black pepper powder- to taste 



Directions for the salad


1.Peel the guava ,slice it and steam it for 5 min or until slightly soft (do not over steam it). Once done ,keep it aside and let it cool down. 


2.In a salad bowl , add all the ingredients of the salad. Once done , gently place the steamed guava slices on top of the salad . 


3.Gently pour the dressing on top of the salad,give it a good toss and serve cold .
