Prawn Moilee


This light and delicious South Indian curry is fragrant ,utterly delicious ,packed with flavour and is very easy to prepare. This can be served either as a week-night supper or as an indulgent dinner along with hoppers or steamed rice.






Some of the ingredients used in this recipe are








Ingredients for the marinade


Prawns-5-6

Salt -1 tsp

Turmeric powder-a pinch

Lemon-1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp


Ingredients for the curry


Coconut oil -1 tbsp

Methi seeds-3/4 tsp

Saunf-3/4 tsp

Garlic -2 tsp

Ginger julienne-2 tsp

Curry leaves -10-15

Green chillies (slit-3-4)

Onion (sliced)-1/2

Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp

Turmeric powder-pinch

Salt - to taste

Rice flour 1/2 tsp+ water-2 tbsp (mixed well)

Coconut milk -1.5 cup


Directions


1.In a bowl ,marinade the prawns in salt, turmeric,lemon and ginger garlic paste and let it rest for 15 minutes.


2.In a pan, add coconut oil, add fenugreek seeds,Saunf ,ginger ,garlic , curry leaves , green chillies ,onions and cook it well. Add some more ginger garlic paste until the onions are slightly brown.


3.Add coconut milk ,stir it well and let it cook for 2 minutes .


4.Add the rice flour and water mixture ,salt and turmeric powder .


4.Add the marinated prawns and let them cook for 10 -12 minutes or until the prawns are well cooked .


5.Serve hot along with white steamed rice .
