Goan fish curry


This delicious and authentic Goan fish curry is very aromatic,has a spicy and tangy flavour, a beautiful texture and is made using very simple ingredients.




Some of the ingredients used in this recipe are






Ingredients

1.Kashmiri chilli (whole and reseeded)-4-5

2.Garlic -4-5

3.Onion-1/2 finely

4.Cumin seeds- 1tsp

5.Coriander seeds -1tsp

6.Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

7.Tamarind paste-1tbsp

8.Water - 2-3tbsp to blend in the mixie +1/2 cup to prepare the curry.

9.Raw mango pieces - 2-3

10.Coconut milk - 1 1/4 cup

11.Oil-2 tbsp


Directions


1.In a mixie , add all of the above ingredients (from 1-7) and blend it well until it’s a smooth paste .


2.In a pan , add oil , fry the onions for a few minutes until they are slightly translucent . Add the blended paste and let it cook for a few minutes. Add coconut milk , water ,raw mango ,tamarind paste and salt. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.


3.Add the fish and let it cook again for 8-10 minutes. Adjust the seasoning. Serve hot with rice and pickle .
