Fish skewers with hot peppers

These fish skewers can be eaten both as an appetiser or as a main dish for your parties.Layered with perfectly marinated and grilled fish and peppers this dish is a sure shot hit amongst all your friends and family. And since you know I love everything with a little drizzle on it,I drizzled some home made mustard sauce with these skewers which add some serious flavour to these little babies.







Some ingredients used in the recipe





Ingredients


Sea bass -100 (cut in cubes/bite size pieces)

Mixed peppers-50 gm(cut in cubes)

Onion-cut in cubes

Olive oil-1 tbsp

Carom seeds- 2 tbsp

Yogurt-1/4 cup

Yellow chili powder-1 teaspoon

Salt and pepper as per taste.


For the mustard sauce


Whole grain mustard sauce-100 gm

Warm water-150 ml

Apple cider vinegar- 25 ml

Salt to taste

Olive oil- 10 ml


Method


Soak the mustard overnight in warm water.Once done,strain and crush it using a mortar and pestle until its a semi coarse paste.Slowly add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.


For the salad and the dressing


Fresh orange slices-a few

Cucumber slices-a few

Lettuce/mixed salad leaves-a handful(roughly torn)

Olive oil-1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Balsamic vinegar-a drizzle

Raw brown sugar-1/2 tbsp

Lemon juice-½ tspn


Method


Assemble the salad in a a bowl and prepare the salad dressing by mixing the rest of the ingredients in a bowl.Add the dressing to the salad and toss it all together.


Method to fry the fish


1.Marinate the fish, peppers and onion with carrom seeds,curd,yellow chili powder,salt and pepper.


2.Take long toothpicks and insert the fish,peppers and onion in layers alternatively.Once done,pan fry them in little olive oil.


3.Assemble the salad ingredients on a plate,prepare the dressing in a bowl by mixing ingredients together and pour it on the salad.Mix well and serve it with the fish skewers and mustard sauce.
