Some of the ingredients used in this recipe are

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of boneless fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or salmon), cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt(hung)

  • 2 tablespoons garlic paste

  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1 teaspoon green chillies chopped

  • 1/4 tsp Kasturi methi

  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons mustard oil

  • 1 tbsp fried chopped garlic

  • 1/2 tbsp roasted besan

  • Fresh coriander leaves (cilantro) for garnish

  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, lemon juice, and oil. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

  2. Add the fish pieces to the marinade, making sure each piece is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let the fish marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, allowing the flavours to meld.

  3. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.

  4. Thread the marinated fish pieces onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.

  5. Grill the fish skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the fish is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside. Alternatively, you can bake the skewers in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.

  6. Once cooked, remove the fish skewers from the grill or oven and transfer them to a serving platter.

  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
