Creamy Orange Posset

These creamy orange cups or popularly known as orange posset is a quick and delightful dessert that combines heavy cream, sugar, and fresh orange juice for a creamy and citrusy treat. With just a handful of ingredients and minimal effort you can prepare this gorgeous desert for any occassion.

Ingredients


Oranges- 1 tbsp

Lemon juice-1/2 lemon

Heavy cream-1/2 cup

Raw brown sugar.-4 tsp (The original recipe has granulated sugar)

Orange slices & mint for garnishing



Instructions


1.Cut the orange into 1/2.Remove the seeds, pulp and squeeze the juice .Pour it through the sieve and keep it aside.


2.In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.


3.Add the freshly squeezed orange juice and lemon  juice to the cream mixture. Stir well to combine.


4.Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Stir frequently to prevent the cream from scalding.


5.Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 6-7 minutes on low flame, allowing the orange juice to infuse its flavour into the cream. Stir occasionally.Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. For a smooth texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bow. Pour the mixture into serving glasses or ramekins or orange cups. Refrigerate these overnight until set.Once chilled, garnish with orange slice and some mint . Serve cold
