Chicken Kali Mirch

Ingredients for the marinade

Chicken drumsticks-500 gm

Lemon juice -1/2 tsp.

Salt -to taste.

Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp

Ingredients for the chicken gravy Oil/ ghee -1.5 tbsp.

Shahi jeera- 1/2 tsp.

Cloves -3-4

Black cardomom -2-3

Bay leaf-1

Onion- 1

Black peppercorn -1/2 tbsp

Ginger garlic paste -1 tbsp

Yogurt (whisked well)-150gm

Coriander powder -1.5 tbsp

Cream -2 tbsp

Garam masala -1 tsp

Green chilli (slit)-2

Kastoori methi-1/2 tsp.

Salt-to taste Directions


1.In a bowl add the chicken. Marinade it with salt ,black pepper and lemon juice and keep it aside for 15 minutes . 2.In a pan ,add ghee and cook the chicken on both the sides until it’s well cooked and keep it aside . 2.In a pan , add ghee ,shahijeera ,cloves, cardomom, bay leaf and fry it for a minute. Add the ginger garlic paste ,chopped onions ,chopped chillies along with all the dry spices and mix it well. Let it cook for a few minutes until the onions are slightly brown. Add the yogurt , cream and Kasturi methi and mix it again. 3.Add the cooked chicken drumsticks in this gravy and it simmer for 15 minutes or until the chicken is well cooked. Serve hot with rotis or steamed rice
